The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth waaaay too much content
This serves as my review for rebirth, afterbirth+, and repentance+
This game, along with DLCs, offers huge huge upgrades from the original/wrath of the lamb. There are so many new items, new bosses and endings, countless item interactions (the ones that did not work in the first game have all been added), and way fewer bugs. There are also an insane amount of characters and achievements/completion marks required to truly 1001+% the game. Nearly 800 hrs in and I'm only at about 73% completion.
Idk what else to say. It's not necessarily the #1 most difficult, fun, high stakes, or engaging game, nor is it one you play for the story. But it's a game I can easily see myself playing for 800 hrs more.
DayZ Quite possibly the best multiplayer survival roguelike ever made
Is it janky? Yes. Is it glitchy? Also yes. Is it just a running simulator 90% of the time? Still yes. Is it fun? Idk... Sometimes I guess.
In all seriousness this game has a wonderful blend of peaceful and tense moments. The stakes are high but the world is vast, so unless you're actively looking for fights they can be avoided and you can just chill out and loot. A good server goes a long way for vibes and play styles which means most people can find a style they like.
Factorio The factory game they beg you to stop playing
A peerless masterpiece in the genre. Once you get the itch to launch, your next 100 hours are already booked. All of the quality of life and none of the filler story lines that get in the way of factory expansion. Do you want thrilling gameplay? Look elsewhere. Do you want compelling story with a rich and vibrant world? Look elsewhere. Do you want to manifest your destiny and displace the local populations to create the most sprawling spaghetti Nauvis has ever seen? Step right up and cast aside your relationships and responsibilities.
Starbound Disappointment
Barely anything is good about this game The movement feels very bad. Randomly generated weapons and enemies suck ass. The planets feel barren and it's disappointing how little there is to explore. The main story was not really needed and feels like a bandaid on a very bad game.
I followed this game's development ever since it was in early access and it did not deliver on the promises
I really dig the aesthetic and worldbuilding, but even with my high tolerance towards janky gameplay it just wasn't worth it. Even mods didn't manage to save this game for me, it would need a total rehaul
