Guys this is for Overwatch 2.....the replica of Overwatch but enshitified

I used to play Overwatch 1 religiously. I had a fantastic time playing and had a very positive gaming experience. This is why like most people, I bought Overwatch 2 when it came out. By the way, this review is for Overwatch 2. Yeah, I have to remind you because it seems like the game's cover simply says Overwatch, but hey, this makes complete sense because there are practically ZERO differences between both games anyway. Blizzard practically copied and pasted the same game and just slapped a new label on it. But I guess they forgot to slap the new label on everything lol. In fact, Blizzard straight up said, "fuck this shit, we all trying to buy yachts this month" and then proceeded to rob gameplay experience for microtransactions. What this effectively did is completely destroy the incentive to even play. Here's why: They took away the free loot boxes and leveling system. For instance, in OW1, you were able to get free loot boxes that contained new fits and gear, voice tracks, and other collectable items that made you want to progress further after leveling up. I used to love looking through the reaper for instance, to see how many levels and xp it would take to unlock the sombrero fit or the halloween gear etc. But in ow2, I now had to buy it in a loot box and prey I'd get anything that looked cool. The thing is though, I refused to buy the battle pass or any loot boxes, so I was literally getting NOTHING when my character progressed. How god damn stale and boring. Additionally, I used to LOVE seeing my level number posted in the corner of my player's profile with the corresponding wreath and stars that represented how far I had grinded on the game and my perceived rank. It made me feel like I had something to show for the hours I had put in. In Ow2 they got rid of this entirely, and instead made leveling exclusive to each individual character. This was a fucking horrible mistake. Not only does this inherently devalue the ranking system, it makes one feel lost with who and which character to progress. Like, there are so many fucking characters and you're expecting me to grind with every single one and there's no way I can see conglomerate progress? It INHERENTLY creates a less deep, less authentic, and less concentrated experience. Like i just don't get it. You are robbing the players individual stats and game identity in favor of the collective of multiple characters to which you take away the visual leveling meter and the possibility for new gear, and then repackage the same game with the same maps, the same gameplay mechanics and the same god damn everything? In turn, you've created a game that is so, so easy to feel absolutely no connection to. And that's the thing; companies like this get so focused on profit, they lose site of the little things having nothing to do with gameplay that make it great. But the thing is, the gameplay in OW2 is even more dogshit. Some of the characters got weird buffs that made them less enjoyable. One of them being Mei who used to be a beast in OW1 and is completely useless in 2. Not to mention the skill based matchmaking. OH MY FUCKING GOD. I'm tired of the hidden skill based matchmaking mechanics present in all of today's FPS games, one example being Call of Duty. In OW1, it had to do with individual stats, where a system placed you with others around your personal skills. In OW2, it is the TEAM's rank...just let that set it. Your TEAM score. BRUH are you serious? This means the chance of you being in a lobby with someone of much, much lower skill set than you personally, is much much higher. Because think about it - it's much more easy to mask your lack of skill on a team carrying you then it is performing well game by game and having DIRECT INDIVIDUAL STATS THAT REPRESENT THIS PROOF. Therefore, it's much harder to progress when you have a wide range of shit teammates that are individually bad players. Sure, you are going to hit a skill gap eventually in both games. But i hit it WAY faster in OW2. To the point where it felt impossible to improve beyond that. Because with the team based skill system, it literally is out of your control. Ranking up then literally becomes gambling. PLACE YOUR BETS, PLACE YOUR BETS. WILL I WIN THE NEXT TO OR NOT? (5 mins into the game) GENJI SHITTER, NOPE NOT TODAY BOYS. And the last thing that makes this game the epitome of dog shit, is your progress from OW1 is not expressed anywhere. Sure gear is transferred but since the leveling system and representation was squashed, it's barely usable or visible in any sense. So essentially, Blizzard told players they'd have access to OW1 stuff as a selling point, yet, besides skins, the stats and progress is visually nonexistent and essentially meaningless. Wow great. Fuck you Blizzard. I never want to speak to you again. You're become worse than Bezos. Fuck you, and fuck WOW. On a side, note, this game turned me into an alcoholic.
