I guess this is the score for competitive pokemon as a whole because this has been the only accessible way for most people to play competitive pokemon for the last 15 years. For the life of me, I don't understand how gamefreak/pokemon expects anyone to play competitive by manually catching and breeding specific mons with specific ivs evs and movesets. I loooove competitive pokemon and regrettably i have way too much useless information about types, interactions, priories, abilities, damage ranges, and all this stuff stored in my brain. Started playing this back in Gen 4 when stealth rocks was the most powerful move in the game lol. I still play random battles every few months, but I do think the pokemon meta has gotten a lot worse over the years. Tera forms are actually quite decent, but z-moves and Dynamax, especially, were just the most boring things in the world. I could probably write 3-4 pages of thoughts on every generation and meta of pokemon, and while I do think the meta, gimmicks, and new pokemon have been heading in the wrong direction for many generations now, I will always come back to it. At the end of the day you should not play pokemon if you don't want to be the very best like no one ever was. Shoutouts to Neil when we'd get home from high school and play cancer haram stall vs stall teams where each game would go for 30 mins lol
